Social Contact Programme

St. Francis Assisi T. T. I. arranges several Social Contact Programmes for its trainees throughout the academic year. These activities are meant to develop a sense of social awareness among the teacher trainees and make them socially committed. Meeting the ordinary mass and interacting with them give the trainees sufficient opportunities to learn a lot from the actual life situation of the people. We enlist some of the programmes conducted in the previous years:-
1.     Survey
Visiting the nearby houses and taking survey on various aspects of the life of ordinary masses is one of the  projects of our trainees. On 12th and 13th of May 2006, our trainees stayed with poor people to have a first hand experience of their life and situations.
2.     Social Service
Every year, our trainees visit the nearby hospitals and public places and clean the area. It is to create awareness among the people to keep public places clean and to offer their widow’s mite in this regard.
On 3rd May 2006, the teacher trainees cleaned the surroundings of Government Ayurveda hospital, Cherthala and the programme was inaugurated by the District Medical Officer.
On 2nd May 2007, the cleaning was done in Government Hospital Arthunkal and Dr. Sudha, Medical Officer of P.H. C. Arthunkal inaugurated the same.
      3Conscientization Programme
In order to conscientize the public on epidemics and other menaces, we conduct programmes for aids-awareness, anti plastic, anti-drug, anti-tobacco campaign, rallies and street plays and public demonstrations and speeches as part of this programme.
